Description
Small shrubs.
Leaves opposite, blades coriaceous;
Inflorescence terminal although often appearing axillary;
Sepals long narrowly ovate.
Stamens inserted on corolla tube in lower half, completely included in tube;
Fruit of paired follicles, usually held erect;
Seeds elliptic, without a beak;
