Archidendron grandiflorum

Description

Tree 3-24 m high, bole 6-15 m high. Branchlets terete, puberulous, glabrescent. Leaves: Stipules filiform, 1-2 mm, densely puberulous, caducous. Inflorescence terminal or axillary at the distal leaves, ± densely puberulous, consisting of pedunculate head-like spikes aggregated into racemes or panicles to 18 cm; Flowers pentamerous, bisexual. Stamens c. 45 mm, tube exserted, yellow, free part of filaments red. Ovary solitary, glabrous. Seeds bluish-black, glossy, obovoid- el lip so id, 12-14 by 8-10 mm.
