Description

Staminate flowers: tepals outside ciliolate or completely glabrous. Pistillate flowers 3-12(-20), upper part of the perianth mostly (broadly) ovoid, distinctly broader than the lower part and minutely puberulous to muriculate, lower part muriculate to pisticulate. Fruiting perianth subglobose, ca. 0.5-0.8 x 0.5-0.8 cm, red, (finally) turning black, muriculate.

Amazon Basin present, Bakhuis Mountains present, Goddo present, Sipaliwini Savanna present, Surinam present, extending to the Guiana region, there only known from the Venezuelan part present
