Tabernaemontana cordata

Description

Tree or shrub to 4.5 m tall, to 10 cm dbh. Bark yellowish. Leaves opposite, subsessile; Inflorescence axillary, dense, 2-4 cm long; Sepals 1.2-1.5 by 0.8-1 mm, c. 1.5 times as long as wide, apex rounded to obtuse, glabrous, not ciliate. Stamens inserted slightly above the middle of the corolla tube; Ovaries glabrous, 1 mm long; Fruit obliquely ellipsoid, possibly orange, 2-3 by 1-1.5 cm, with 4 ridges on each mericarp, 5-10-seeded.
