This complex of taxa, occurring from Florida to southern Brazil is represented by two forms in the Guianas. The two entities, 7a and 7b, can just be separated on the basis of differences in the dimensions of the leaves and figs. F. cremersii , F. donnell-smithii , F. krukovii and F. paludica appear to be distinct species, closely related to the F. citrifolia complex .
