Description

Tree to 1.8 m tall. Branchlets glabrous, not lenticellate, weakly angled. Leaves: Inflorescence often many times branched near the base with short thick branches that appear very crowded, 1.7-6 cm long with axes 0.4-5.2 cm long and branches 0.7-2 mm wide, glabrous or puberulent in upper parts; Sepals ovate, 1.3-2.1 by 1.2-1.8 mm, 1.1-1.5 times as long as wide, apex rounded, ciliate, glabrous or sparsely puberulent outside, glabrous inside. Stamens inserted c. 6.5 mm from corolla base which is c. 0.8 of corolla tube length in rehydrated flowers; Ovaries 0.9-1.1 mm high, glabrous or very sparsely pubescent on top; Fruit with a blunt hooked spur, 10-12 by 4-7.5 by 8-9 mm, spur c. 4 mm long, sparsely puberulent.

Asia-Tropical: Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present), Perak present
Malesia: Peninsular Malaysia (Perak).

Morphology

This is a very characteristic species with inflorescences that are branched near the base followed by crowded short cincinnate branches and small flowers and narrow corolla lobes.
