Lithocarpus ewyckii

Description

Tree 10-30 m, 20-90 cm ø; Branchlets initially densely fulvous tomentose by adpressed stellate hairs, later subglabrous, greyish to dark brown, sparsely lenticellate; Leaves thin-coriaceous, (6-) 12-15(-18) by (2-)4-6(-7) cm (index 2-3), broadest about the middle; Stipules narrowly ovate to linear, 5 by 1-2 mm, soon caducous. Inflorescence male, androgynous or mixed, densely brownish stellate hairy;

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present, Singapore present); Sumatera (Sumatera present), Johore present, Malacca present, Nunukan I present, Pahang present, Perak present, Selangor present
Malesia: Sumatra (most parts), Malay Peninsula (Perak, Pahang, Selangor, Malacca, Johore; Singapore), Borneo (common in all parts, also Nunukan I.).

Notes

The flowers have been recorded as having a musty fragrance.
