Description

Tree 10-20 m, 20 cm ø; Branchlets glabrous, with thick nodes, dark greyish brown, sparsely lenticellate; Leaves thick-coriaceous, rigid, (6-)8-10(-12) by (3-)4-5(-6) cm (index (1.6-)2(-3)), broadest at the middle; Stipules linear-acute, c. 2 by ½ mm. Inflorescence male or androgynous, solitary or in dense paniculate clusters, densely or sparsely tomentose by stellate hairs;

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present (Sabah present, Sarawak present), Mt Kinabalu present, Mts Mulu present, Poi present
Malesia: Borneo (Sarawak: Mts Mulu and Poi; Sabah: Mt Kinabalu).

Notes

Though the young cupules are sometimes in clusters of 2-3, only one is well-developed, the others being abortive.
