DIEPENHORST HB 1315 (type, U!) fromPriaman, NW. Sumatra, has very young cupules and fruits which are suggestive of 89. L. sundaicus REHD., though the leaves (badly preserved) are much smaller and less pubescent. MIQUEL compared his species with Quercus blumeana KORTH. and Quercus encleisacarpa KORTH., which are, however, two completely different species.
